Here’s a few of the thumbnails I did for the cover to issue 1 of Gatekeeper.  I don’t usually like posting my thumbnails, as you can see they are nearly incoherent, haha!  But I want to get better about posting all the stages of my work, even the not so pretty ones.
I ended up going with the one in the corner all on it’s own (the only digital one), and the cover is complete.  I’m going to hold off on posting it for now, though.  I need to finish up the logo and then Justin and I can send off the pitch!  So exciting!  :D

Walter from Gatekeeper, a comic Justin and I need to finish up the pitch for.  We’re almost done, we just need to settle on a cover and logo design.  Anyway, I did this with sharpie multi-liner.

I did this with a sharpie fine liner in my sketchbook.  I was pleasantly surprised by the amount of line variation I was able to get with it!  It’s a little stiff here and there because I didn’t bother with a pencil sketch first.  But I want to get better at going straight into sketches with inks.  I feel like the more I sketch in a manner I can’t undo, the better decisions I make in general when I draw.

Concept art done for the comic Justin and I are trying to pitch.  These are my attempts at some of the things that inhabit the world.

Here are some exploratory sketches of Adelle for Gatekeeper.

This is an exploratory piece for something EloquentMonsters and I are working on.  I got the go ahead to color my Womanthology pages, and we still need to screenprint some new shirts for the Super Toy Show on the 13th, so work on this project is going to fall by the wayside for about a week.

This is a style test for a comic that Justin and I have in the works.  We still have a lot to fiddle with, but we’re happy with the direction.
