I’m trying to get familiar with the Elysion Age characters in a flat style. I’ve been very happy with everything else I’ve done in this way, so I’ll be tackling chapter six with this method.
Speaking of which, chapter six has been entirely thumbed out. I’ve taken a small break from the comic to work on things for the shop. New t-shirts have been screenprinted and will be in stock soon. I’ve also got a small bath and body line in the works, lip balms and lotions to start with. We’ll be holding a clearance sale soon to try and move the stuff we’ll be discontinuing. More on that later.
Once I finish with all that, I’ll be diving right into getting those chapter six pages done!
Thumbnails for the first few pages of chapter 6 of Elysion Age. My thumbs are always so super rough, I tend to be shy about posting them. There are comic artists out there whose thumbs are immaculate, I have no idea how they do it!
Anyway, now that ECCC is out of the way, I can really get back to work on roughing out this chapter.
Jean Giraud, or perhaps more widely known as Moebius in this country, was an extremely large influence on my art. I first became aware of him through the Panzer Dragoon series, which remains one my my favorite series to date in large part to the incredibly unique aesthetic that has yet to be matched by other games.
Elysion Age looks the way it does because of him and his art. The mancers and the airships especially were done with his work in mind.
I was very sorry to hear that he passed.
There has been so much beautiful tribute work done, and I wanted to contribute to that. I went with Rin, because of the massive impact that Moebius ended up having on Elysion Age. It just felt right, I guess.

Using my super fine zebra brushpen to doodle me some Vrass. Eventually I will draw his antlers consistently. Eventually.
I don’t think I ever posted this here. Putting it up now, because I like that it shows how Rin and Jude are with each other. You see a bit of it in the very beginning of the comic, but from there on they rarely interact. They will again, of course. But I can’t say much about that without getting spoilery. (Mwhahaha.)
I should clean up more of the sketches I have of them.
